Things to do at Silver Falls State Park

There's no shortage of things to do at Silver Falls State Park.  It's the largest Oregon State Park, and it is only a little more than an hour away from our Willamette Valley Bed and Breakfast. Within the park, you'll find plenty of hiking, biking, and scenery to enjoy.  The park features 35 miles of backcountry trails for mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, and it's a great place for nature lovers to spot birds and deer, and other wildlife.

Of the many popular things to do at Silver Falls State Park is The Trail of Ten Falls.  This breathtaking hike is nationally recognized, and for good reason.  It winds its way through a densely forested landscape, passing a series of breathtaking waterfalls along the way before descending to a creek at the bottom of the forest floor.  The trail is 7.2 miles long. A highlight of the waterfalls is South Falls, which drops an impressive 177 feet and which you can walk behind.

While you're out exploring the trails at Silver Falls State Park this summer, make sure to stop and enjoy the beautiful fields of wildflowers as you travel.  The area is home to an incredible variety of wildflowers, which start blooming now and continue throughout the summer. If you don't have an annual parking pass for Oregon State Parks, a day-use permit is required to visit Silver Falls State Park, which can be purchased on-site when you arrive.
